About The Artists
The Hot House Four

Website

We are delighted The Hot House Four+1 will be returning to the Country Soul. Since swapping their television for a piano, in 2013, The Hot House Four progressed from jamming in the lounge to a band in a matter of months. Willy Briggs together with his wife Lisa teamed up with their daughter Lola and Mr Dan Morley to play some early American roots music. Now they could be classified as The Hot House five with the addition of the very talented Mr Tim Heming on clarinet. THHF+1 blend a creative mix of Western Swing, early jazz, blues and rag with twin guitars, accordian, lap steel, harmonica, mandolin, clarinet and upright bass all of which can be heard in their extremely cool musical vibe. Their latest long player "Old Havana Moon" (Shelby Records), arrived to fine reviews and was a top ten LP in our own Country Soul playlist.

Ian Cal Ford and his Acoustic Preachers

Website

We are extremely pleased that Ian Cal Ford and his Acoustic Preachers will be making their Country Soul debut. Back in the UK after 5 years away from the music scene, Ian has teamed up with long-time pals Dave Luke & Carl Beddis to form this new and exciting acoustic based trio. With a brand new self titled long player release 'Ian Cal Ford and his Acoustic Preachers' (Catty Town Records) we find the trio covering master songwriters such as Haggard, Lightfoot, Rowan and even the great movie theme genius Dimitri Tiomkin! How cool is that!

The Dustbowl Sinners

Website

We are very excited to say that The Dustbowl Sinners will also be returning to the CSS. Formed in 2018 the musicians collective known as The Dustbowl Sinners play a cool concoction of soul roots and Americana music. Emanating from the windswept plains of Byfleet and New Haw and the brutal wilderness that is Staines-Upon-Thames this fine sextet will serenade you with a multitude of instruments such as washboard, banjo, harmonica, dobro, guitar accordion and mandolin. In 2020 they released their debut EP ‘Wake Up Sinners’ to fine reviews. Expect to hear quality originals and quality covers.
