 Laura B and Her BandWebsite Laura B and Her Band The Country Soul Sessions are delighted that the UK’s foremost authentic recording Rhythm & Blues artist Laura B and her all-star band will be playing for us at the June Country Soul Sessions. Laura B’s powerful vocal style is inspired by R&B singing legends such as Ruth Brown, Big Maybelle, LaVern Baker and Etta James. Yes Laura B ‘rocks' and yes 'she rolls' but she is more than ably backed by a fantastic seven-piece outfit that includes some of the finest R&B musicians in the UK and Europe.To date Laura B and her band have recorded three long players culminating in their latest release ‘Just A Little Love’ (Shack Records) in 2020. Having played at major events and festivals in the UK and all over Europe this is a great opportunity to see this amazing outfit perform within an intimate club environment. If their last performance at the CSS is anything to go by then don’t miss them as they were incredible! |

Playing an eclectic mix of retro Swing, We are delighted that Minnie & The Moochers will be returning to the CSS. Playing an eclectic mix of retro Swing, Jazz & Jump-Blues, the band’s repertoire ranges from tunes such as Duke Ellington’s ‘It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Aint Got That Swing', Dinah Washington’s ‘I Know How To Do It’ and 1950s jazz classics, like Peggy Lee’s ‘Why Don’t You Do Right?’. The band is led by Dave Piggott on guitar, supported by Pete Feldon on bass and Martin Grubb on drums. At the Country Soul they will be joined by the talented Alice Jelaska on vocals and clarinet. |
